Assignment #2, Geometric Self Portrait
The Geometric Self Portrait is obviously suppose to look like me but it really doesn't. However, I did try to replicate my face shape, my hair, and all of those kind of things. I followed the four layer process for it. For the colors, I used the blend tool starting with a peach skin color to a very dark brown color which I used for my hair. I added shapes with 10% opacity on my face for a highlight and contour (a.k.a. a more realistic three dimensional look).
Assignment #3, Photoshop: Fantasy Creature Design
This creature is something that I think would be seen in a movie such as The Hobbit or something like that but maybe a little bit more enhanced. To be honest, given my procrastination habits, I did this one day in second period and during lunch because during the week I was given to work on this, I would quite decide what kinda creature I wanted to create. I later decided that I wanted a more simple creature that is not too extravagant yet too plain. The texture of the horns give it a more mystical feel to me and the color of the hair seems like that of a fantasy creature. I used an iguana skin picture for the skin although it ended up looking more like a giraffe's skin. If I had to redo this, next time I would do a totally different creature like a mermaid with dragon wings, horns, snakes as hair, kelp as eyebrows and eyelashes, crocodile skin, and a more complex background.
Assignment #3, Photoshop: Book Cover
I chose the book Cheaper by the Dozen because I watched it many time while growing up. Although the movie is slightly differs from the book, the main plot is almost the same. The book is an insight to a family of 12 children raised through scientific methods. In a way, it reminds me of The Sound of Music because of the numerous children and the way they are raised.
